Align Paper in an Inkjet Printer

If your pictures do not line up correctly when printed on perforated paper, use this procedure to print an alignment sheet and adjust the printer alignment.

1. On the Print at Home toolbar, click Align Paper and then click Print.

2. Fold the sheet horizontally, making sure that the edges are even. Press to create a crease. Unfold the paper and compare the fold line with the horizontal test line that runs the full width of the alignment sheet.

If the fold line aligns with the horizontal test line, your alignment is correct. You do not need to make any change.

If the fold line does not align with the horizontal test line, select the number that is closest to the horizontal fold line.

To print with no horizontal alignment, set the number to 5.

3. Fold the sheet vertically, making sure that the edges are even. Press to create a crease. Unfold the paper and compare the fold line with the vertical test line that runs the full length of the alignment sheet.

If the fold line aligns with the vertical test line, your alignment is correct. You do not need to make any change.

If the fold line does not align with the vertical test line, select the letter that is closest to the vertical fold line.

To print with no vertical alignment, set the letter to E.

4. Click OK.
